Planting a jewel orchid in a naturalistic vivarium is very simple, and best done after the rest of the plants have been planted - this will allow you to better judge water flow and light levels. To do so, just follow the steps below:
-
Wash the jewel orchid, removing all soil and substrate the plant may have been shipped in.
-
Using your hand, scoop out a bit of substrate where you wish to plant your jewel in the vivarium.
-
Gently place the jewel orchid in the depression, and cover the roots with substrate.
-
Water heavily initially, to help the jewel orchid to acclimate.
